79(?) CLUB clicks no run
I have a 75-80 club I just got not running. I have no idea what year it is, I can't find any #s on the frame.
I put new batteries in it and some new cables, I get all the solenoids to click but motor not engaging. I think it ran until the batteries died, yadda yadda. The control wiring all looks intact, not burnt or broken. I have 37 V at the charger plug. Anything that sticks out here I need to do other than find a diagnostic ladder sheet? |

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
Going to need a wiring diagram, one way to get one is to find the serial number,...

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
the plate on dash is gone. the glove box has a hole in it that can be fixed but if I pull the glove box it will crumble.
I had thought I read it was on the I-beam frame around the battery area, stamped in or something. any how where can I find a wiring, schematic, and diagnostic for carts 75-80? |

You can look at these diagrams and see if it matches what you have, the thread is in the stickies above , that is for a 76 to 78, |

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
If you have 37V at the battery charge port, jack it up and put your voltmeter on the resister side of the #5 solenoid (furthest to the right).... when the first solenoid connects (which is actually the second from the left), you should be around 17V, #2 should be around 24V, #3 should jump to 30V and the last will go to full voltage.... if they don't, you may have a bad micro switch. If all work and still nothing to the motor, check your connections to the F/R switch.

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
I used a jumper and all 5 solenoids work. The micro switch works. I have 37V on batteries. Key on, forward, pedal down I hear 4 snaps, not 5, is that right?
I tried the test on #5 and it starts at 37V with 1st click, I looked at different years and it looks like 75-80 were all the same electrically. My problem could be the cable routing and the fact that I'm using 3 twelve volt Trojans, so the cables appear different. When I got the cart some of cables had the ends gone so you couldn't tell for sure where they went. I put a before and after pic on here. I have one red cable not hooked up, I guess its for reverse |

Use the wiring diagram originally posted. Even though you have 3 batteries, it shouldn't effect the wiring... except length. Length is the key!!

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
My next step will be a motor test. I got down there and looked, the inspection cover was gone, leading me to wonder if they were trying to fix a motor problem. They didn't make motor terminals easy to get to on this model. I guess I'm using the Ehow deal with connecting A1 and S1 with jumper, hooking 12v to S2 and A2.

Re: 79(?) CLUB clicks no run
Finally ran the mtr test. Fail. I looked inside and the brushes were burnt and holding back. Touched up brushes, smoothed and separated commutator and it runs. No reverse but probably its the cable thats not hooked up yet.
