Has anyone paired a bandit motor with a 500 amp controller?
Hello BGW!!
Has anyone paired a plumquick bandit with a 500 amp controller? Just wondering how speed and torque results. I have a 600 amp madjax and would like to try a Bandit motor. Thanks everyone for your help and sharing your experiences |

I'm in the renovation process now with a SPM48500 Alltrax and Bandit. Got everything wired but haven't fired it up yet but I'm hoping it will have decent performance. Within a couple of months I should be able to report on how well it did.

I would give the guys at plumb quick a call. They can set the motor up for what you want. |

Re: Has anyone paired a bandit motor with a 500 amp controller?
I have a 500 amp Alltrax controller with a plum quick bandit. It's on a 2007 Club Car Precedent with a 6" lift and 23" tires. I just put in new Trojan batteries and can get about 21 mph on our gravel driveway. We use the cart around the farm so speed is not a priority. It has plenty of torque. With passengers on the backseat and starting off on a hill, it will pull the front end off the ground. If we're in the sand, it'll spin both tires. We also pull a small trailer that we use for firewood and mulch. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Re: Has anyone paired a bandit motor with a 500 amp controller?
I have a bandit in my limo cart with a DCX500 but haven't turned it all the way up yet. I did ask the guys at PQ about running the 500 with a bandit and they said it should be fine but really didn't recommend going higher. If you have a 600 you probably need a different motor...

I wouldn't expect a lot of improvement until you combine your high amperage controller with a motor that can utilize the higher current. Compare it to putting a four barrel on a four cylinder engine.

Re: Has anyone paired a bandit motor with a 500 amp controller?
I just did a test run on my stock motor with the 600 amp torque controller. 6" lift & 23" tires. I got 21mph on flat gravel toad and lots of torque. I cant imagine what the executioner would do! I bet it would hit at least 25 with lots of hill climbing ability!
Thanks for all these replies! It really helps! |
