Hey guys, needing some help diagnosing a 99 ds.

99 club car DS 48v. With rocker f/r.

I had taken this cart in on trade. When I acquired this cart.
It had an older solenoid disconnected with what looks like a newer one in its place. There is another solenoid with a coil resistor on it.

The controller was off of the cart so I had a local cart shop 're install it.

Batteries were set out along time and bone dry and swollen to the point of almost being round.
Cleaned the cart up today and bought all new batteries.
Charged to 49.volts and no go.
The battery light would come on momentary and then go off. When I switch in reverse I get the buzzer.

Please let me know what I should check next or what info I am missing.

Cant wait to make this our beach cart, and my two girls are dying to cruise the neighborhood in it.

Are both solenoids hooked up? Do you hear them click when you turn the key on? These questions will help find out what is wrong. Likely many more to follow.

I will put the charger on longer when Unger home and bring them up to par.

The solenoids are both hooked up. I have been trolling here for a while before I posted and have read up onsome things.

Going to check the solenoids today. Will they both engage at the same time.

Will they remain closed or only momentary. What exactly should I look for.

If they are closing, should there be full voltage across.

Sorry for what may seem like stupid questions.

there are no stupid questions
they will not engage at the same time
as i understand it the one with the resistor is for 1/2 speed reverse
do a solenoid test on each one

Ok. Have it on charge now to bring it up.

Once full I will see what I have and go from there.

No click heard when turning on the key. What kind of voltage goes across the solenoid to get it to close.
And I assume that it's normally open and when the key it turned, it closes. If it closes. What happens from there. Is it then controlled by the throttle.

Is there a sequence of operations somewhere, just to know what trail I chould follow.
