Default mid 2000's IQ Villager is stalling after take off

Hello All,
I have a mid 2000's IQ ReGen Villager cart that has recently started stalling after I take off. It happens intermittently, mostly when I push the accelerator all the way down at start. If I ease into the pedal, it seems to have no problem. Do I have a potential problem on my hands?

Thanks in advance

From reading these posts, if yours is electric, I would guess you should look at replacing the MCOR. There are lots of posts about that and they helped me diagnose mine and I replaced it myself. Revolution Golf Cars is a site sponsor and can get you the correct one. They got me fixed up.

I finally got around to looking at my cart. While checking the voltage of my batteries, I found 1 battery (the last in the series before the solenoid) that had a completely melted + (positive) battery terminal. The other end showed no signs of damage or over exertion. Has anyone ever seen a battery terminal melted completely through?

Might want to post a picture of your serial number,

not sure if they made a 36 volt regen cart, but I think the melting may be from cable ends, the one I have circled has a larger gauge lug than the cable , just an opinion.

This is extremely common on these vehicles. FYI, it's not a regular IQ car. It's the IQ Plus system. IQ Plus cars use 8 6-Volt batteries and have a 500 amp controller from the factory. Because of the bigger controller, they draw more power and require #4AWG wires on the batteries. Any corrosion on the wires can cause a bad connection. The extra draw due to the larger controller causes a lot more heat than you'd have on a regular golf car. That's what melts the battery posts. You've gotta keep them clean and keep good quality cables on them.

thank you all for the ideas...I switched all of my cables when I bought new batteries to two gauge except for that last wire that goes to the solenoid....looks like I will be changing that one too.

Thank you all again!
