lengthening OBC wire
It as been determined that I need to replace my OBC in my 2001 DS Villager 6. I have found affordable OBC's for regular DS carts (3pin with triangular connector) but the Villager 6/8 OBC units have a 9' negative cable that runs through them and are quite a bit more pricy. Isn't it possible to just remove the negative wire from my obc, cut off the lug, run through the new obc, and then reattach the lug? Any problems with this idea?

Re: lengthening OBC wire
I think the charge interlock signal is the important item in the OBC and controllers, certain years operate differently, the length of cable should not be as important as the connection and the lug attachment, solid connections and quality ends . (in my opinion that is) Larger cables often used a stud or attach lug after going through the OBC,

Re: lengthening OBC wire
Yes it's possible. I'm assuming it's a series car with the lever operated F&R switch? If so, you can order OBC #101909901 and replace the black wire with a longer one. It will work fine.
