84 Club Car DS Differential
I bought an 84 Electric Club Car that I am restoring and I want to verify which differential that I have. I believe that club car used Fuji differentials but not sure. I want to upgrade this car to a 48 volt system and eventually adding 400 or 500 amp controller with a 4" to 6" lift. The motor is a 10 spline and I believe is an Hitachi.

Re: 84 Club Car DS Differential
Thanks, I have seen that but just wanted to make sure this was a Fuji Differential. I have read that the Fuji was one of the weakest differentials made for the club car, so I may be looking at replacing it later with one of the newer model differentials if I plan on lifting and converting to 48v.

Re: 84 Club Car DS Differential
I am in the process of stripping this car down completely and restoring everything and a repaint. This has become more work than I was hoping for, but most of the bolt hardware was rusted and needed replacing along with a lot of other parts.

Re: 84 Club Car DS Differential
I've never had the opportunity to work on a Fuji. I was under the impression that they didn't have the 10 spline input shaft. I know they've got a rubber fill plug, which looks like what you have there. Otherwise, it looks a lot like a kawasaki.

I have a Power Drive plus with the "Energy Displacement Module " . I think it only lasted about two years, mine was bypassed when I bought it in June. Of course reading older threads I see most do bypass it. |

Re: 84 Club Car DS Differential
The 10 spline is what is confusing me, because from what I have found is the Fuji used a 16 spline. Yes this does have the rubber fill plug and the drive shaft housing has an arc instead of flat where It connects to the differential.
