Default Re: Battery Terminal melt down

I just experienced a semi-meltdown. I was out enjoying some ice carting last week. Came home, connected the charger and was in for the night. The next morning I noticed that charger was still on and indicating that the batteries were still low. I lifted the seat and noticed a slight hum from #4's positive post...then I saw the arc. I pulled the charger and hit the tow switch. The post is now loose..if I turn the nut, the stud turns too. The wires arent in good shape, so I'll be replacing those asap. I'm considering tapping the other terminal and putting in a new post. I'm debating on using a hanger bolt or a socket screw...Any thoughts?

Under the advisement of ScottyB I looked for a local place that would do the repair - and I found one that was only 15 miles away. It cost me $10 and they repoured and fitted the terminal for me - awesome!
