Default 06 club car ds won't go in reverse

Just purchased my first golf cart, an 06 electric club car ds. I brought it home and drove it for a few minutes and everything worked perfectly. I spent the next hour or so detail cleaning the whole cart with the power washer, including the battery compartment. When I went to move it into the garage it would not go into reverse. The back up buzz sounds and I can hear a slight click, but no rearward movement. Forward works fine. I plugged it in, and checked on it in about 15 minutes and reverse worked. After letting it charge for about 5 hours I checked again and no reverse! I'm very frustrated but can't help but think it is something simple. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance

Electric and water don't play well together.

Post your serial number (just above the Go pedal) that will give us the information on what kind of drive system your cart has.

Could be a fuse or as bad as the controller shorted out.

It sounds like You have a DS IQ cart (Sepex AQ06 serial number prefix).

There are some input signals on a cart's controller that require very little current to trigger.

The FNR circuit is one of those inputs and a little water can cause the controller to receive erroneous signals.

It should be fine after it dries.

As a rule of thumb, always put the cart on "Tow" and avoid spraying water directly on any electronic components or switches.

Wait until everything is dry before putting the cart back on "Run".

Sergio you never cease to amaze me. You nailed it again brother...

Kmart06...

Pop the rocker switch out of the housing with a small flat blade screwdriver. Pull the wires off of the switch and look towards the bottom of the switch and you'll see two tabs you can pull outward to take the switch apart. Pull the switch apart and dry it out with a hair dryer or pressurized air. Put it back together and it should work fine.
