Motor Swap?
Heres the deal, I need some expert opinions. I have a 2002 club car DS serial number AA0220-148973. It currently has motor 102237701 model 5BC59JBS6360 3.10/special service motor. the motor has given up and im seeing if I can replace it with the 3.3 hp motor part number 103572501 model EJ8-4001A (given to me)? the cart has the Curtis PMC 225 amp controller model 1204-410. I have talked to several people and can not get a good answer. any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!!

Re: Motor Swap?
Assuming your model numbers are right - and with just a very cursory search on Google:
102237701 - SERIES MOTOR 103572501 - SEPEX (IQ) MOTOR Answer: No - the drive systems & controller are NOT compatible You must have noticed the "free" motor has a pigtail wire/grey connector at the back end for the Regen speed sensor - series motors don't have those. |

Re: Motor Swap?
joesam, if he changed out the controller, and left the pigtail wire on the motor unhooked, would it work?

Re: Motor Swap?
You might want to give Robbie at plumquick motors a call sounds like you could use one of his bandit motors I have one in my 03 ds and with the stock controller with 10" tires easily went 20+mph.
