While I'm gone I want to pick up a cable or order one. Can you tell me what the cable is called or part # and also on alltrax site, what software is needed? Thanks

I'm not a vendor for AllTrax. Get in touch with Scottyb and he'll tell you what you need.

The software You can download from Alltrax, it looks like they have a couple of versions depending on the year of the controller.

http://www.alltraxinc.com/Products_ControllerPro.html

Alltrax has an old document about the cables:

http://www.alltraxinc.com/files/Prod...USB-Cables.pdf

It is a Serial DB9 male to USB cable, You may be able to use one from Best Buy.

One more question.... How important is the resistor between on solenoid? I broke it when I took it off to jump out solenoid. I'm hoping electronics store here will have one in stock.

It's very important to the life of the controller. We have plenty of them if you need one. #1014947

The resistor pre-charges the filter capacitors in the controller. It reduces arcing on the contacts as they close.

You need a 470Ω 10W resistor and ring terminals.

You should replace it as soon as possible, but the cart will run without it.

Well, crazy day! They cancelled the storm trip so I went and bought cable and resistor, hauled tail home couldn't get anything to communicate so I called alltrax again and some to Will. We did a couple tests and he said my controller is bad. That sucks! So because my cart wouldn't charge I have gone and created a $1,000 repair with the obc and controller now.

I'm not an Alltrax mechanic, but I don't understand how the controller can be bad if it's giving you a green light that means it's good to go. What kind of testing did he have you do?

He had me check voltages at various locations on the board and solenoid with no throttle and with throttle. I'm not sure either on the diagnoses but that was his determination. I just wish I had another controller to try before I spend that money. He said the cause was because this 400amp solenoid I have doesn't have a diode between the small wires.
