Default Stuttering on acceleration - 98 Club Car Electric

Hi guys -

Just got a 98 CC, new batteries in the last 6 months.

Running fine for about two weeks, let the girls take it out for a ride (I know, I know shouldn't have) and when they came back the cart is now experiencing a stuttering upon acceleration when starting from 0 mph.

Once you get up to speed there are no issues and cart runs at full speed, however you can no longer floor it from a standing start without experiencing this bad stutter and there is noticeably less power on acceleration at first.

The best I can describe it is like a hopping as if the suspension is off or the wheels aren't gripping the ground and are bouncing.

Any thoughts or can anyone point me in the right direction? Much thanks!

Mine did that for a short time. After some research and digging found to check battery connections and fluid level. I only had the cart for a week when this started happening . found level in the batteries was low. Filled them all with distilled water and stuck on charger. No problemssimce, been about three weeks now. Maybe your problem also

Yeap... Vast majority of problems start at the batteries so that is where the troubleshooting should start.... What is overall pack voltage after fully charging them and what is pack voltage while this stuttering is happening?

Sounds like low voltage to me. Do as suggested and check all battery connections and water levels. If the problem doesn't go away, check the battery voltage. Let us know what you find.

Will do everyone. Going to check voltage and get back. Sorry for the rookie questions without having more tests done first!

Thanks for the replies.

So -

Checked voltage, I have the 48v model (8volts x 6 batteries right?).

4 / 6 - checked out at 8 volts

2/ 6 - were at 6 volts

Is it a matter of the batteries then? Any suggestions on what to check next? Water levels are all good, used distilled. Batteries are fairly new, from within the last year I believe.

The stuttering and lack of torque has worsened over the last two weeks, I was out of town and left the cart charging.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

Just read about checking pack voltage. Need to recheck but I believe it was in low 40's
