Default Help on buying wires please...And I am stupid. Drilled OBC :(

So, I have replaced some of the stock wires on my 2002 DS with mcor with 2 awg wires. I replaced the wires between the batteries and the negative wire that goes from the controller to the battery pack and the positive wire that goes from the battery pack to the solenoid.

Good start I guess, but now I want to replace the rest for a future upgrades and to try to get a little more performance on hills. My cart is not lifted or larger tires, but I may upgrade motor and controller to get more torque for pulling and climbing. So I think I should replace the wires to the F/R switch and to the Motor. Also, the short wire from controller(B+?) to the solenoid.

What would I call those wire to do a search of places to get those wires only. Not the entire kit with the wires I already have.

Thanks!

P.S. Just found out i drilled the OBC. This sucks. Lol!

for the price of a replacement OBC, you may want to spend a little more and just buy a DPI charger, eliminate the OBC.

I would call scottyB and tell him what you need, he will help you get exactly what you want.

You can get welding cable, 600 stand and a good insulation or even better locomotive cable but comes a bit pricy.

Did you damage the OBC while drilling it? It is easily damaged if not careful but it can be done I know as I did mine....

Generally welding cable.... High strand count with an acid resistant jacket. Stiff auto/truck battery cable generally has low strand count and a jacket not well suited to being exposed to acid....

Royal/Excelene makes good welding cable, 600 strand count is for 2ga+ sizes.

The strand count does nothing for the current carrying capacity, but it does make for more flexible cable and can reduce the stress on the connection posts if the cables have a short/sharp radius turn before the post.

You do have a certain amount of Styrofoam like "potting" compound inside the OBC hole.

The actual Hall Effect sensor is located in that little gap on the toroidal blue core, as long as that core did not shift and damaged the sensor, it may work.

Here is an inside view of the OBC.

Get with Cartattach with Executive Golf Carts, I just ordered an entire set for my precedent 6 x8 volt for $95.00 and that incudes the forum member discount. They are Royal Excelene 2 ga. welding cable with silver soldered lugs, they seem to be very high quality and the price is great and you can tell they are handmade , I got them in the mail the day after I ordered them and he custom made them for me to work with a OBC stud. I am sure he can make what you need and I haven't seen anyone even close to his prices.
