Controller Box
Anybody got any suggestions before I drop 300 bucks on a 48 volt controller box? I tried jumping the solenoid (red to yellow) - nothing. I know the solenoid is getting power. I also put an ohm meter on the motor and it should be good. The reverse buzzer sounds when I put it in reverse so I guess that switch is okay. It is an old Club Car . I can't find a date on it. I think is might be a 2002 model year. It has the squared off front.
Thanks, |

Re: Controller Box
Let's start with a vehicle serial number so we can identify your drive system. Then we'll go from there and figure out exactly what is wrong with it. Don't buy anything yet.

Re: Controller Box
I will send it when I get home. Is it the number above the bar code?

I could not find a metal tab like the picture but there is a number on a label with a bar code under it AQ0338-324586 (Clubcar)

Re: Controller Box
It is a 2002 Club Car DS with the IQ drive system. If the reverse buzzer is working, that indicates that the controller is powered up, which rules out an on-board computer issue. I was going to tell you to bypass the onboard computer to see if it would run, but that now becomes unnecessary. If the solenoid isn't clicking when you press the pedal it could possibly be a bad MCOR (Throttle switch). Look underneath the cart below the floor pan on the passenger side and you'll see the MCOR. It's a black box mounted to the frame. Un-Plug the square 2-pin connector from the MCOR and leave the triangular shaped 3 pin connecter in place. Use a piece of wire or paperclip to make a connection between the two wires within the 2 pin connector (blue and green) and see if the vehicle will operate. If it does, replace the MCOR with part number AM293101 MCOR4 conversion kit.
