Default 2005 carryall 2 no go

I have a 2005 Club Car Carryall 2 with a 48 volt "series" drivetrain. It was working when we purchased it last year but pretty slow, so we replaced the 3.1 HP motor with a 5.5 HP motor. Big improvement! Then a few months later it quit working in forward, only had reverse: It had burned contacts on the forward side of the F/R switch, so I replaced the F/R switch, worked great! Now after a few more months it is not moving again. No solenoid click so I replaced the solenoid, and it moved about ten feet, then quit. Could it be the controller? I'm pretty new to carts, but have been a mechanic for 30+ years...HELP?!?!?!

What is your pack voltage? Stock controller or upgraded? Any signs of over heating on the new F&R switch?

I have 50.1 volts and it has the stock controller. There is a little discoloration on the forward side contacts. And I just disconnected the batteries for about five minutes and then reconnected them and the solenoid clicked and the cart move about ten feet again, then quit, now no movement at all, again.

Is the solenoid still clicking when you step on the go pedal?

No, just that once after having the batteries disconnected.

Put your cart on jack stands rear wheels off the ground for safety.

I might be off base here. This works on the older carts.

If you did not hear a click coming from your solenoid, then grab your voltmeter and set it to DC volts on the 200 scale, and place a probe on each of the small terminals.

With the key on and the cart in forward, step on the accelerator.

If the voltmeter shows full battery voltage, and there is no click, the coil inside the solenoid has failed and will need to be replaced.
If your voltmeter remains at 0, then there is a problem somewhere else in the cart.

Hopefully one of the gurus will jump in here.
