Default Dumb question about the pedals and floor mat

How do you remove the floor mat from the cart. Do the pedals unbolt or ???? Im not in front of my cart right now otherwise I would look but I need to remove my old one to clean it or buy a black rubber diamond plate one.

Thanks and sorry for being impatient and just waiting till I had my cart home.

Oooh, good one. I had a guy tell me one time I could lay the matt out in the sun for a few hours, spray it down with some WD-40 around the holes and I could then wrestle the mat back on over the pedals.......I think he lied.

Taking it out is easy...getting it back in is a *****.

I found it far easier "for me" and quicker to take the pedals out, lay the mat down and re-install the pedals. It only took a few minutes to take the pedals out.

Mine was very rigid and difficult to bend around the pedals. Once I decided the mat would not be used again, I cut it off. If you are going to replace it with rubber diamond plate, I would also drill some holes in the floor board and pop in some plastic push-in rivets. If you plan on trailering it the new mat will rip...trust me. I plan on trying rhino coat next to rid myself of floormats. My half cent.

PistonHead - did you ever figure out how to unbolt the pedals? I have an 87 CC and can't tell how to unbolt them with removing the entire linkage.

I always cut a slit in the mat between the two pedals. Works Great!

I was thinking about that to get the stock on off, but i was thinking of putting down metal diamond plate to replace it with. It just doesn't look like the pedals are bolted to the rods, they all look like one solid piece....?

My accelerator pedal can unbolt but my brake pedal is welded under the cart and can't disassemble above the floor. I put the diamond plate in (2 pieces)... took some wrestling but none of the pedals had to come off. For some reason the rivets that came with the floor were way too long to work. Picked up a bag of shorter ones that worked perfect. Good luck!
