Default 95 CC DS running too hot...

Been away for awhile, feel like I forgot everything I ever learned. My 95 CC DS 48v with new batts, 700amp, badboy 5.5hp, 1 g cables, heavy dury f/r, heavy duty solenoid. Running on 23", reaching 34mph is almost melting rubber on cables going to obc and then to motor. All other cables are only warm. OBC plastic is heating up bad! Point of concern: because of the thickness to the 1g, I used a 3/8 threaded copper bolt to pass through the obc and attach cables to each side. I'm wondering if this is the problem? Help please, kiddies want cart for trick-or-treating....yes I am driving!

Thinking of putting my smaller tires back on to lessen stress on motor. Why would my cables only be hot at obc to motor? Should I use a smaller controller? Should I bypass obc all together and use solid run of cable from last batt. to motor?

Found some connections that could have been tighter. Copper bolt pass thru was grounding out on back of mounting panel on obc. I plan on bypassing obc, it seems like a challenge to utilize with 1g cables. When I originally did it, I shrink wrapped casing around bolt but it must have received too much heat...it's almost non existent now. I changed to an all terrain 22" tire as opposed to 23" mudders...I figure it's got to help besides smoothing out the ride. I would love ScottyB or someone similar to chime in to confirm my thoughts. Going to perform bypass now....hope I don't kill her...lol.

It's going to run hot with a setup that can go that fast! I would go with smaller tires.

I put on 1" smaller tires and bypassed obc, runs like a champ. No real heat, only warm coming off f/r....
