Default Wiring charger port

I'm wiring in a new charger port in my 36v to 48v DS conversion. The new charger port has three wires, one of those have a fuseable link. Where does this one get wired into or do I leave it disconnected on my conversion? Thanks for the help.

That is the sense wire with a 3/8 amp fuse that goes to the obc.

So I don't have a OBC, do I just leave this disconnected?

Usually we just leave the 36v charge port and get a crowfoot plug on the new 48v charger...... are you certain your new charger is a standalone type charger not designed like millions of CC 48v chargers to work with the obc only?

Well that was going to be my next question, what is the best charger for these conversions? The charger port was damaged so when I purchased a new one I just got the 48v since I was making the switch. I'm in the market to get a charger now.

So you have the 3 pin round CC charge receptacle?

Yes that's the new one I purchased, but if that's not good, I'll get something else.

Yes, we have a smart charger to fit the dumb receptacle. THere is nothing wrong with the receptacle you have, just not alot of options for a non- OBC dependent charger to fit it. Of courser there is an aftermarket control board for the dumb chargers that makes them operate without the OBC but, I'm sure this is not as good as the 5 stage DPI charger with float mode at the end of the day...
