Im baaaaa'ck...
Hey guys. Long time no be here. Sold my cart some years back and the wife regrets me doing it but I just bought another one. This time an 2008 Precedent with 2012 Trojan 8V's in it. Nothing fancy other than a canopy, Light kit, Mirror bar, flip rear seat kit, windshield, SS wheel covers, wood grain steering wheel (not shown in picture as not on yet) plus it has a new factory royal Blue body on it.
The only thing I really plan on doing to it is get the level 4 program done. Its at level 3 now. This one is for the wife as she wasn't happy I sold the other one even though she agreed it wasn't needed once I bought the Side by Side. So for christmas she's getting this one. Im tired of hearing about it. Now she can gripe about me buying another toy I guess. Its sort her hobby... Hey... I see Dave has gone out on his own! When did that happen? Nice... Hope your doing well. Dave do you do the programs for level 4? I've made that run down to your area before. |

Re: Im baaaaa'ck...
Welcome back. I can order the speed code from a dealer and it won't be any difference in cost than what it would be if you were to order it from the dealer yourself. If there's a dealer closer to you than I am, that may be the most affordable way of getting it done. If the golf car has the IQ drive system on it you can simply replace the magnet underneath the speed sensor and it'll do the same thing as the high speed program, plus totally remove the regenerative braking. It's a whole lot cheaper too. I went out on my own in March and I haven't looked back since. It's been a dream come true so far.

Re: Im baaaaa'ck...
Thanks Dave, I really don't recall how to determine the drive system a Precedent has. If its IQ or Excell is that right? The two choices? I don't have it handy right now either. I do have the Serial number and it starts with PQ so I am fairly sure its a IQ. Im game on the magnet thing. How do I obtain this and where are some install instructions?
Glad to see you doing good and good to know your available if I need anything serious. You really woke up my old cart back then. |

Re: Im baaaaa'ck...
Thanks
It is a mostly Black motor with Silver end cap so it is an ADC motor. Big sigh of relief for that for the Magnet install. |

Re: Im baaaaa'ck...
Wonder how many oddball GM motors would have been even used in 2008? Probably not many from what I am reading. Did they even use any in 2008 or where they all AMD/ADC

Re: Im baaaaa'ck...
They still list the GE motor #5BC59JBS6390 (gray housing) as being used in the 2009-2011 Precedent Service manual.
