So it seems that the driver side measuring from front to rear is 1/4 - 1/2" closer than the passenger side.

Probably because the brake cable is so tight it won't allow it to move back into it's resting position.

I've read that after I did the lift. Wish I would of seen it before!! Somewhat "afraid" to do it. Maybe I'll try to tackle it this winter. Is there a video of this somewhere?!? Videos always make things easier for me! I was also kind of confused on the plate needed.

Another thing I don't understand is the extra plates that need to be made. Why do I need to have them? And where do they go?

Or does it go, bracket that came in the kit and the shock attaches to that, then the leaf spring, then the brake cable bracket, kit lift block and on the very bottom, the plate made (and one I mentioned above.

If you have an All-Sports lift kit you won't have to make any plates. It's all in the kit. From top to bottom, New plate with shock tab, leaf spring, factory brake cable retainer plate, lift block, axle, with a square plate on the bottom.

Well you'd have to get creative then.
