I just got done with trying to pull my truck. heres what happened . The truck didn't move --then the cart just stopped dead,

Then unhooked the truck- the voltage when trying to pull was 42.5 volts, then it jumped back up once it free of the truck. Did this 5 times just to be sure VOLTAGE WAS NEVER BELOW 42VOLTS.. It tears out of my garage, my son stopped by and said; theres definitely nothing wrong with the batteries- which i knew before he spoke. He used these deep cells as part of his job for years.SO! I cruised around the yard ---the long, long, driveway, at about half throttle; runs around wonderful at slow speed. The minute you pour the coal to it It dies .hit the pedal when it stops [dies}-it clicks and away it goes forward or reverse
bob s what do ya think? and thank you- for coming back to my thread.

I think there is something wrong with the batteries. Either they are degraded or they are not made to discharge at the rates required.
Would you mind posting the battery make and model #so we can find the specs?

What all you got planned for the Chevy ?

Wondering if perhaps they are marine deep cycles? They work but just don't last long in carts.

I'm no expert by any means, but I've worked on a lot of different types of vehicles, airplanes and equipment. Plus I stayed at a Holiday inn express last night.

It seems these batteries are doing as they are supposed to do. They are NOT supposed to run a golf cart, and that is the problem. They may work just fine in a lift or something.

http://www.alpha.com/index.php/produ...ategory_id=109

If these are them they are terribly undersized with the largest of the 3 only giving 110 Ah @ 20 hours. And as stated in previous thread they need special charging requirements and are really not meant for the huge amp draw the likes of a golf cart can ask of them. They were designed for UPS systems and they have had their guts pulled out of them as while they still make voltage they no longer have the ability to deliver big amperage.
