Keep dancing around those batteries. They may get better.

Sorry Bob but by your own admission these are "alphacell gxl 195" and simply not suited or sized appropriately for golf cart duty. When new the gave you at best 400 aH when you needed at the very least 600 aH and preferable 1,000 aH

Realize too that golf cart batteries come in sizes. The sizes I'm talking about refer to amperage capacity. Amperage capacity is the most important feature of a new battery.

Scrimp on amperage capacity and we could be talking about run time problems with new batteries ! Got it?

If these are them they are terribly undersized with the largest of the 3 only giving 110 Ah @ 20 hours. And as stated in previous thread they need special charging requirements and are really not meant for the huge amp draw the likes of a golf cart can ask of them. They were designed for UPS systems and they have had their guts pulled out of them as while they still make voltage they no longer have the ability to deliver big amperage.

Well Bob look at it this way, you did do well if you got those battery for zero cost as you got another year or two down the road before having to break out the old wallet.... But looking back through your old post what is clear is that those batteries have been giving you and the members here a hard time from the get go....

As to Crown batteries they are indeed good batteries and are what I have in my cart. Just make sure that you are buying at least the CR-165 as they also have a CR-150 which is doable but is in my opinion a little undersized.
