Default CC goes out of garage fast but then dies

Well i have 50.volts pack voltage all 4 batteries are running 12.4 or close. Iput the new speed sensor on it ,the old one i had pushed in to far, and i think shorted it out. That might have been the noise i heard, i'm not good with this wiring to say the least.Controller was replaced last spring. It takes off great! pedal clicks loudly when pedal is pushed...buzzer in reverse works perfect forward and reverse the cart takes off ,either way. It feels like its losing power when it dies, which is everytime it goes out the door. If i drive really slow it seems to be working good a little longer before it stops .....but then it dies any help is always appreciated. Think i'll stick with hotrods once i get this cart figured out. cheers bob s

Bob you need to do a load test on your batteries. Connect your digital meter to the pack then find a hill. Drive up the hill and see how low the voltage drops.

Uhmmm .... no.

You are load testing them every time you press the gas you are just not looking at the data!

Your cart is a better load test machine than most auto parts houses have. Unless they have a 48v golf cart draw-down machine you won't get any better information than a clipped on DVM can give you.

Man i'm caught in the middle here,Theres no hills to do this test.flat ground everywhere, here.Multi meter won't tell the story then , is there any other way maybe to do this scotty bob s

I called a battery store in the next town, I can get crowns at decent cost.but they recomended if i don't use the cart , wait til next spring. They told me what you said scotty.Cart not used your killing the batteries, if they set around,so he also told me he has no" drawdown machine'. multimeter the way they do it too..

Just do it on level ground. I would bet these batteries are dropping to 30v if not below...

Figure out a way to hook the leads to the volt meter to all 4 batteries and you can see the volt meter then push the go pedal. When your cart stops what is the voltage ?.

Bob, if you keep your foot on the pedal does it die completely and stop or does it slow to a crawl and maintain a low speed?
