Default 07 Precedent intermittently will not go

Hi guys, I have an 07 Club Car Precedent and recently I have started having an issue where it will occasionally seem like it slips out of gear, then everything that is powered from the batteries (Except the hardwired light kit) will shut off. The lights will never shut off. I initially thought battery, but I checked my water levels, gave them a good charge and tested all batteries and they test out fine.

When I push the pedal I hear the click that indicates the cart should go, then it will simply not after which things like the radio that are powered beyond the ignition switch will cut off (My lights are hardwired and will turn on and off without the ignition being on).

Any thoughts or things to start checking?

I greatly appreciate any help, I would really like to figure this out without involving a cart repair store and get this fixed myself!

Thanks in advance!

Start by jumping key switch?

I have not done that yet, but given the fact that I can turn it on and sit and listen to the radio I am not thinking it is the ignition switch.

I do agree that is definitely worth checking and will add it to my list of things to check on though, thanks mrgolf!

When it happens, turn the key off and work the accelerator pedal up and down 20 - 30 times. Turn the key back on and see if it goes. It could be an MCOR problem and doing this will clean off the wiper arm contact surface. Worth a shot.

The MCOR is part of the accelerator pedal assembly. It controls the speed of the cart, by pressing repeatedly it helps clean the contacts inside the switch. I would also check all battery connections to make sure they are tight.

I'm assuming the click you're referring to is the main solenoid. Since the solenoid is clicking, an MCOR problem is possible, but unlikely. I'm thinking somewhere more along the lines of a motor or controller issue. Try to give the car a push simultaneously while you're applying throttle trying to make it run. If the car jumps and jerks like it's trying to run, you've got a bad motor and must replace it.
