club car clicking from motor when running
purchased this older club car.had 2 year old batteries that had been left on charger without use.took back to manufacturer they placed them on a large bank of batteries for a week and have saved them phew!!!
now its working and charging there is a clicking noise from the rear motor/ gearbox what could this be.it is not continous so is effected by the accelerator its not loud but its mechanical not electronic.it appears to come from both sides of the gear box.help??? |

May be that the sliders in the brakes are sticking.

It's hard to tell without actually hearing the noise. It could be an internal issue within the differential, but a motor issue is more likely. Motor brushes often tend to make noise similar to what you describe when they get worn.

serial number is A9733-595717
the noise and power is affected by the accelerator so could be bushes.will investigate cheers |

Ahhh. The guide ring noise. Very common. They're cheap and not very hard to install.

If you have wheels similar to these with a removable center section it may be your problem. They were loose on my cart and it took a long time to find. Going slow up the driveway you could hear a little tink,tink,tink. Driving at normal speed centrifugal force would hold them in place and they were quite. To check grab center and see if there is any motion.
