Club Car Precedent Stutters and Headlight Pulsates
I am hoping someone can help me out. I just Received my upgraded "Bandit" motor from Plum Quick motors for my 2011 Precedent Club Car and immediately after installing the motor I had the following issue.
Issue: Prior to sending off the original motor I had no issues with the cart. Immediately after installing the new motor the cart, I took the cart for a test drive. I drove about 75 yards and everything seem to be working OK. When I turned around and started to head back I noticed that the cart would not go above 10 mph and stuttered. As the the cart slowed down the headlight would dim. With the throttle fully press down, the cart speeds up and slows down and the headlight fluctuates with the speed. I understand there could be many possibilities but I was wondering if anyone ever had this occurred? I contacted Plum Quick but they said I would have to pay to ship the motor back for them to imspect it. I am hoping it is something I can fix. |

Did You charge the cart while you waited on the motor?
It may just be the battery pack is discharged, I cannot think of any other explanation for the headlight dimming during the slow down. |

I did not charge the cart, but I did add water to the batteries. It was off the charger for about three weeks. Could that be it?

Re: Club Car Precedent Stutters and Headlight Pulsates
Most likely.
Just plug it in and let it run a full charging cycle, up to 16 hours. Also, You should only add water after a full charge as the electrolyte level increases with charge. The only exception is if the plates are exposed and then You add just enough water to cover the plates and the rest after the full charge. |
