Re: 03 ds question
The diode is good to have on there. It's a voltage suppression diode designed to help protect the solenoid coil and make it last longer. The snubber can be removed. I'm honestly not sure what it's purpose was, but back in my days at the dealer, the procedure was to remove it because whatever they intended for it to do, didn't work.
