Tom-Thanks for the reply- Doesn't soundlike a selinoide. Seem related to wheel or axle speed. Dick

Tom-Also I don't THINK it is a 96 regen model as it doesn't have the right shift lever. Dick

Hey Dick,

My wifes 98 48V has the same sound that I think your talking about,

- a slight clicking when accelerating...
- quiet when cruising at a steady speed...
- and a relatively louder clicking when decelerating, or going down a hill...

from what I've learned here at BGW... is that there is a "Bumper" in between the armature and the transaxle,
that keeps the armature from sliding back and forth,
When it's worn, it causes the clicking noise...

I haven't replaced it yet... I'm too busy messing with my cart!!!

If it sounds like the same situation you have...
I can scan and post an exploded view of the motor,
to show you where it is, and the part number!

Here ya' go...

The part ("bumper") your looking for (and that I need) is #4
CC part# 102235201

I'm guessing it's the same part number for 92 CC's on up!

Hope this helps!

Don-Doesn't look like a complicated job to replace the bumper- a good afternoon and a 6-pac should do it!! I think I will replace the shaft bearing at the same time. I can't seem to save the sheets to my documents from this web site. If you have the sheets on your 'puter could you e-mail them with an attachment to me. I will tear in to the project and order the parts after I get it torn down. Thanks again Dick

Don-It doesn't look like a complicated job to replace the bumper-I think I will replace the bearing/magnet unit at the same time. Sounds like an afternoon and a 6 Pac should do the job. I can't get a save on the sheets from this website. If you have them on your 'puter can you e-mail/attach to me at dcannow@comcast.net. Thanks again--it's easy to see why this would cause the clicking sound. Dick
