Default Do I need HD suspension with a rear seat kit?

Hey guys getting ready to order a rear seat kit, do I need the HD suspension kit in the rear too? Looks like my cart is only made to do about 12 mph it's a 2000 club car series 48 volt. Will the seat weight cause it to slow down even more?

I originally didn't upgrade to HD when I put mine on and quickly found I needed to when there was bottoming out. Remember these were made to haul a couple of sets of clubs in the back.

It depends on your passengers. I once saw a family of 4 that was clearly in excess of 1,000 lbs riding on a golf cart. I donít think it mattered how many leaf springs were on that baby, sumpthiní was gonna break.

I put them on my cc Ds and it made a huge difference. I am glad I did.

For average use you'll need to add a helper leaf or get some medium duty 2 leaf springs.
The weight of the seat alone exceeds the weight of 2 bags of clubs, plus people weight
is more than stock springs are designed to support.
I'd stay away from 3 and 4 leaf springs cause they'll beat your brains out. If you're carrying 5oo lbs+, then you might want to consider 3 leaf, but when you have no load they ride hard.

I have 4 leaf, but I have tall side wall tires. They ride as good as my friends 2006 with 12 inch wheels and low profile tires.

Not really, just be ready to change out the broken spring where it happens because you can't drive it , Mine had a seat with the single leaf springs, I do haul stuff and turns out springs do break
