Club Car Won't move -- "click" from rear
48V Club car. Recently batteries, all up to snuff, charger good. Suddenly will not reverse nor forward but I do hear a loud CLICK from the rear which I assume is a solenoid. Ideas on where to start? Thanks

You might mention year or serial number of cart to get some ideas.
all connections correct and tight with wiring? F&r fully seating? Tow switch in run if it has one? |

Re: Club Car Won't move -- "click" from rear
Over the years Club Car made (at least) four different drive systems that run on 48 volts - and they are all different, and need different troubleshooting; so year and drive type will help a lot. Search this site to figure out what you have & advise.

OK, finally back (just had full lumbar fusion surgery so a little hard to get around) -- the cart's year is 2002. Any ideas?
Thanks |

Re: Club Car Won't move -- "click" from rear
Nope - Still not enough info to determine drive type - in 2002 they made both series and sepex (IQ) drive systems in 48v. But at least its getting narrower. The sepex (IQ) carts had a rocker switch for fwd/rev and the series carts used a larger "lever" for fwd/rev. Pls advise the serial number to be absolutely certain. Many people buy carts that they "think" are 2002 (and may have been sold as such) but the serial number (on the narrow aluminum strip panel just above the floorboard near the passenger's foot well) is the only absolute way to know what you've got for sure.

OK, thanks for patience. I screwed up as first time I got serial number could not bend so used a mirror... anyway, the correct year looks like a 2005. Serial # is A0005866376. (mirror made 5 look like a 2...)

Quote:
The A0005 is the important part of the serial number. The A denotes you have a Club Car DS. The first two numbers following (in this case 00) tell the year - 2000. The final two numbers (05) tell the week built You have a 2000 Club Car DS built during the 5th week of production of 2000 DSs |
