2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction. 2010 Precedent that has new batteries. After a complete charge the cart does not perform to the 19mph it should and the battery light flashes on and off. Slows down like it loses it charge after about 12 holes of golf. All 6 batteries show 8.0 volts after charge and 7.6 volts after 18 holes of golf.
Thanks, Randy |

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
Most likely you need new batteries. After charge you should read 50.9 for 100% charge. You got 48v that equals 45% charge. At 7.6v each that is less than 10% charge left. I'd check the water levels and charge again until the charger automatically shuts off then wait an hour or so(the longer the better) and see what your voltage is. It should be near 50.9v.

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
Your voltages are way low. Something is wrong either with your charger or your batteries. Since your cart is not running correctly, I believe that your low voltages are real and that the batteries are not being properly charged. They should be up to almost 8.5V after a full charge. As said above, you are reading less than 50% charged after charging. Tell us what batteries you have and what charger you have and how long you are charging.

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
Thanks for the replies, I will check tonight when I get home. I know that they are Energizer Golf Cart Battery - Group Size GC8. I bought them at Sam's Club. The charger came with the cart new.

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
The charger is a Club Car Power Drive 3. I was also wondering it has a automatic watering system to the batteries, are there any issues with those systems?
Thanks |

After a full charge, disconnect the DC plug from the cart, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
Make sure the ammeter on the charger goes all the way to max. If it does not, You either have a bad rectifier in the charger or a bad OBC. What kind of watering system did You add to those Sam's batteries? Pictures? |

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
Should I attempt a OBC reset? I think I saw some instructions somewhere on this site.

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
To reset the OBC on a 2010 precedent just disconnect the pack for more than 10 minutes.
Once You connect the battery pack back and drive the cart for the first time, if the OBC reset, the battery warning light will illuminate. |

Re: 2010 Precedent Battery light and loss of charge
When you say disconnect the pack, you are talking about disconnecting the battery cable that comes from the OBC, right?
