ok, this thing will be great for what i was wanting to do. SO, if i do the charger bypass, then plug the charger into this timer, THEN the only way to do what i want to do, without bypassing anything on the cart, is to use alligator clips on the charger output cord, to the carts batteries?

ok ....
do at your own risk

it does not matter that the OBC is by passed or not

this is a jumper

Put this in place of the yellow wire jumper and it's a timer charger like you want, The OBC will still need bypassing,...

That is exactly what i am trying to achieve, with 48 volts.

I have alot of club car chargers and 1 pro performance eagle charger, that are 48 volt, and none of them have much room to install a timer in or on.

You can only install a mechanical timer on a Charger.

The OLD Ferroresonant boxes are actual chargers, the extra transformer winding and capacitor circuit taper/reduces the charging current as the battery voltage rises.

Adding a timer to those boxes will control the amount of time the charger stays on the "topping" (low current) phase of the charging cycle.

The Powerdrive2 and Powerdrive3 external boxes are just Power Supplies, the current will continue to be as high as possible as there is no method to reduce the current as the battery voltage rises.
