Tire pressure advice
Just got my first Cart. Its a 2001 CC DS. Cart currently has 22x11 Sahara Classics on it. What PSI do I want to run these tires at. Cart will usually be only 2 passenger, and 200lbs per passenger, so 400lbs total.
thanks in advance |

Re: Tire pressure advice
There is no standard for everybody. I borrowed this procedure from JohnnieB (Thanks).
Start by inflating to the max. pressure marked on the side wall of the tire. Mark with chalk or talc a band across the tread of the tire. Roll the cart to transfer the chalk to the floor. Measure the transferred mark and compare to the measurement of the thread of the tire. Decrease pressure by 2 pounds and repeat measurements. When the 2 measurements are equal, you have the best pressure for tread wear. Adjust pressure up or down for personal ride quality. Welcome to BGW . |

Re: Tire pressure advice
This is something I've been wondering about too. I have RHOX Mojave II 22x10.5x12. The sidewall says Max PSI is 36, but "operating pressure" is 20psi..I have them at 22 now, but I've been curious about the "correct" pressure.

Re: Tire pressure advice
the pres on the sidewall is general, the manufacture does not know how much the vehicle will weigh, i do like tags' thought of the chalk;; i also have the seara kings,, and they are so wide its almost impossible to get them to wear even. i ran mine soft,,7lbs, till i saw the outsides wear a little, then i went to the recommended of 10lb, that's how i got them to wear even, cant do it with 1 setting alone good luck steve

Re: Tire pressure advice
This seems like a great idea. Would also be good to confirm front end alignment.

Re: Tire pressure advice
