Default 2010 Precedent steering

My 2010 Precedent with stock suspension has developed a binding in the steering. I jacked up the front and turned the wheels from side to side. When moving from lock to lock the steering binds about every revolution of the steering wheel. It seemed to loosen up a little as I turned it back and forth. Before I tear into it I wanted to get your thoughts. Are there grease fittings on the steering rack? Could cold weather have anything to do with it? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Spray the hill out of the knuckle joints with oil. And yes cold weather will make it still but should not be enough to bother.

There are 2 grease fittings. If you have never greased them before you might have to take them to a garage where they have a pneumatic grease gun. After that it will steer like power steering. Well maybe not quite.

Thanks for the replies. Is the steering rack sealed or can it be greased?

The tie rods have grease fittings, as well as the spindle bushings. The steering shaft has a knuckle joint where it comes out at the bottom. They never get greased or oiled. I used PB blaster on mine to loosen it up, then oiled it good. Been smooth every since.

The universal joints in the column are seized up. If it's the lower joint, you can replace it. If it's the upper, you're gonna have to change the entire column. I've changed over 100 of them. Very common problem with 2010 model Precedents. They had a bad batch of steering knuckles.
