Reverse even in forward
Heres one for ya....
2001 Club Car DS, 48 v, tow/run switch, toggle direction switch, MCOR.... Had no power to F/R switch, charger click but not engage. Solenoid would not engage. BUT run hot wire to centre pin on f/r toggle, would work fine, but still no charger operation. Tried different OBC with same numbers...charger would work then, no hot wire needed BUT speed would run up then die off, run up, etc. And runs in reverse with it in forward, and reverse in reverse....but throttle not constant. Tried 2 or 3 different OBC's and all will charge but throttles up and dies off....OR will only make a humming and not move. When it does run, it is only when wheels have no load in the air. Will not move on the ground, it tries. Have over 50 volts on it right now.... |

Re: Reverse even in forward
Sorry doug, but what is the issue? If you want to charge try bypassing the obc.

Re: Reverse even in forward
The cart goes reverse in forward, reverse in reverse. And won't charge. The other OBCs I tried (same part #) will charge but throttle input is not consistent.

Re: Reverse even in forward
First test the F&R Switch......maybe the switch is no longer flipping when you put in F and it stays in reverse. Or just unhook the wires and connect them individually and see if F works and R works. Reads like the switch.
If you won't charge take the OBC out of the picture. Connect the gray sense wire to the pack negative terminal. You unplug the yellow connector, leave fuse in it, attach jumper to end of fuse to pack neg. If it works with other OBC's purchase new OBC. I would suggest removing it and going to a DPI charger. Throttle input has nothing to do with OBC. Others have mentioned cycle the pedal 50 times. You can pull the plugs in the MCOR and clean them and make sure pins aren't broken. MCOR could also be bad and hopefully Sergio will chime in to teach us how to test it and that might cause F&R probelms..not sure. If you do have a bad MCOR the suggestion is go to MCOR4 and purchase from Revolution a site sponsor. |

Re: Reverse even in forward
Thanks. I have tried the wire jumping at switch, same thing. The signal wire (grey) to receptacle to ground does nothing, but jumping main ground to the battery ground will allow charging. I am going to replace the controller, it is the only thing I havenot tried yet....

Re: Reverse even in forward
Hold on before we try anything else. Doug, what's the serial number of the car? 01 DS would not have MCOR unless it was converted. Want to make sure I know the facts of the car we are working on

Re: Reverse even in forward
Actually, the 2001 DS PowerDrive System 48 and PowerDrive Plus vehicles with serial numbers AA0112-001470 and greater use a motor controller output regulator (MCOR).

In any event, the serial number would still be beneficial just to be 100% sure of the cart we are working on. Once we get that we will go from there |

Re: Reverse even in forward
Well, I got it going guys! Sat down with a coffee and smoke...thought about it and it hit me...a little short cut I remembered. The 6 wire harness to OBC, I spliced the red/white wire to the blue and away she went. The OBC is the dirty stinkin little culprit! So, finish this cart up with a new obc and move onto the next one!
