Not advisable. When you remove OBC you need a smart charger.

Once you bypass the OBC it serves no purpose and a smart charger like a DPI (for OBC bypassed carts) is required. I would imagine an even more elaborate charger setup will be required when you move to lithium although that question is best left to the more knowledgeable folks here.

I just tried to bypass my OBC ran the wire from the charging port to the negative side of the battery and then cut the blue wire and white wire and spliced them together. When I did this I was getting a negative -48 volt reading on my batteries and biggie not moving when i unhook the blue and white wires it goes back to normal 48 volt reading. What would cause this?

I lust want to review this with you for details to be sure it was done correctly. You removed the 10g wire that attaches to the back of your charging receptacle and runs into your OBC harness. Then you ran a separate or new 10g wire from that termination point on the receptacle, down to your "Main" pack negative and attached securely with a 5/16" ring connector. Then on your OBC wiring harness you unplugged it and the white and blue wires that would remain on the harness side of the cart, you cut those two (2) and spliced them back into each other?

Double check all that and if that is correct, I have no idea why it would not run as you are only completing the circuit for the OBC lockout with the white and blue wires.....

The wiring harness/plug on the OBC, you unplug it AND connect the blue and white or just connect the blue and white. Do you leave it unplugged?

To bypass it or for testing, disconnect the 6-pin connector from the OBC and install a jumper or metal paper clip between the white wire and the blue wire on the cart's harness side connector. (Insulate it if you are going to leave it that way or look at the front of this sticky and there are directions for cutting off the other side and making a jumper plug.)

What about the grey wire from the charge receptacle that goes to the OBC. Just unplug it and wrap it up? That's what I did along with performing the jumper trick and the reroute of the black wire to main neg. My Yewy has not arrived yet to test it out though. It will be here today.

You wont need it with a Yewy charger, but you will need to permanently bypass the lockout feature if you have your stock controller.
