I have a 48v (4x12) 2007 CC Precedent.

@ScottyB - That's what I was wondering. I don't need a speedster. The current tire size, and engine produce plenty of speed for what we need. I just want to get those wires out of there and do any other tweaks that'll help us out longevity wise.

If your just interested in stretching the run time out, the best bank for your buck would be to changeover to the 6 eight volt battery configuration. Plus the new wires.

I am curious, could you use a high quality jumper cables at a larger size gauge cut to size and put lugs on for around 40 dollars instead of buying the larger gauge cables at 100 dollars, is there any difference?

There is a very big difference between 12v cable for 50 amp starter and 48v cable for 250-400 amp motor! If you want to make your own cables purchase welding lead.

Tractor supply has welding cable on spools. Measure how much you need, likely less than 20 feet. Not as costly as jumper cables would be.
