Default Power drive 3 charges backwards

I have a 2009 precedent with a power drive 3 charger. When I plug it to the cart the amp needle goes to the neg side ( below 0 amps so to speak) tried another charger and charges properly. Any ideas?

That is what happens if the charger relay coil is good but there is no power output from the rectifiers.

You need to quickly isolate which side of the Transformer has the problem.

Disconnect the DC cord from the cart.

Disconnect the AC plug from the wall.

Set your meter to continuity or 200Ω.

Place the meter probes on the 2 AC blades on the plug.

Plug the DC cord to the cart.

When You hear the relay click (and the ammeter go negative), You should get continuity on the meter.

If no continuity is detected, The problem is with the AC breaker or relay contacts.

If there is continuity, The issue is with the fuse or both rectifiers are bad.

The rectifier is bad. Very common problem. Part number 103517401 - Button Diode kit will fix you up.

I own the company. I'll tell my boss I need a raise.

Glad you got it fixed.
