I have factory 6 gauge cables on my 48 v Club Car. I bought a cable terminal crimper and was thinking of making some 4 gauge cables. Would I get any noticeable increase in performance?

The answer is maybe. If your present set of cables is offering a lot of resistance to the amperage delivery then you will feel additional torque.

My first upgrade was 2g cables on my first cart, unless i was going up a hill I didn't notice a lick of difference.
Later replaced the motor with a PQ executioner and experienced moderate increase, really moderate.
Eventually I upgraded the controller and solenoid and once the entire circuit was upgraded did I notice a significant increase in torque and speed. I did it incremental for two reasons, one cost and two to see the differences.
Straight up you could do a controller upgrade and get a difference or a motor upgrade and get improvements but until you upgrade the entire system, will you get the maximum increase in performance but yea it is at a cost.

If I was on a budget I'd probably do either the controller or the motor upgrade, probably about the same difference in performance if that was absolutely the only things changed. (depending on you particular cart that is, so many variables to consider results won't be the same).
