So i did replace this second set of interstates with trojans. I am sure the problem is just the interstate batteries.

They do not say golf cart on the batteries but the part number says GC, so i take it thats their cart battery.

What really makes me wonder, is around here, interstate dealers sell reconditioned interate cart batteries that say " ECONO" on them, and they all have the green tops . I could always tell by the green top they were refurbs. But these new batteries also have green tops, so now i'm wondering is it just a coincidence, or do all interstate batteries have green tops?

Im confused... you ordered 6 - 8V's so your converting to 6 batteries?

Thats two different questions. I think most of the guru's around here are going to agree with you doing that. But your going to need some cables.

I think there is a disagreement about the quality of Interstates from what I am reading. Some like them some don't. I guess thats sort of up to you. However I see very little distain for Trojans. Outside of a bad batch in the past. Ive had both but I did not see the interstates to their demise as I sold that cart when they where just a year old. The Trojans before that went 7 years. And I currently have 2 year old Trojans in this new car t so I am no help there.

Just comparing specs, the Interstate is better than the Trojan.
Interstate GC8-HD-UT 8-volt golf car battery - 170AH
vs.
Trojan T-875 8-volt golf car battery - 170AH
Both batteries are 170AH rated, but that number means very little as it is calculated at a minuscule 8.5 amps draw.

A better number to use for comparing 8v batteries, is the minutes it can run at 56amps.
Interstate GC8-HD-UT - 56amps run time = 128 minutes.

Trojan T-875 56amps run time = 117 minutes.

The Interstate battery appears to have a better Peukert Coefficient than Trojan so it delivers more energy at higher discharge rates.

Of course You need to trust what the specs say, not so long ago Trojan published a white paper where they re-tested US Battery claims and they were not near what US Battery had published.

Also, no battery is rated in years, so how long a battery lasts has no relation to its capacity or quality.

Take good care of whatever batteries You get and they will likely perform well for the average cart owner.
