New to this -- Have battery question
Hi!
I am extremely new to this. We are about to purchase a new club car (used 200 which has (4) 12 volt batteries. I see many say that (6) 8 volt is better. The person I plan to buy from says that's only the case if we drive it more than 20 miles per day. Can anyone here pls help educate me some more? Thanks!! |

Welcome to BGW
You will get longer run time from 6/8v batteries because they hold more amperage but, I have a 4/12v CC and we have no problem running as much as we need. In the service industry we did see shorter battery life with 4/12v. Average use was 3-4 yrs opposed to 4-5 yrs for 8v. |

This is what we saw servicing the uncontrolled public user. Maintenance was minimal to nothing in most cases. These were year-round carts. These are general guidelines for any and all. Your results may vary.

Re: New to this -- Have battery question
Scottyb is absolutely correct. However, there's no reason to steer away from the car with the 4 12's... If it doesn't work to your liking, there are battery conversion kits available to be able to put 6 8Volts in it.
