Default Re: Batteries

I'm not looking to "save" a few bucks. I'm looking to buy the best batteries I can afford but not spend more than I have to. I've decided to go Trojan just don't know if the T875, T890 (which seems to not be available) or the Ranger 160 is what I need.

Here's a couple of charts that may help you. Note that they are not all inclusive (not every brand available). Also a couple of years old now but not much has changed in the flooded battery world.

I understand the Ranger 160s have considerable more amp hour ratings, are heavier and would out perform the 875s. My question is more related to what is sufficient. I wouldn't buy a one ton dually truck with a big diesel engine if a half ton truck with a v6 will easily do the job. That's all I'm looking at here. Cost difference is not the make or break. I just don't want to spend the extra if the lessor will do just fine.
