Default 1983 club car

Hello I have a 1983 36v club car, it has decent power on flat land, could walk faster up small hill and reverse is a turtles pace. I have replaced all 6 batteries, forward and reverse switch, all limiting switches, and all 5 solenoids. The only thing left is the motor, but before I replace that just wanted some opinions. Thanks

I too have the 36 volt Club Car. 1987 year
Did all the same stuff to it.
Just faced the fact that it is a slow turd.
When I had the batteries replaced somehow they put in 6-8 volt batteries.
It did perk up somewhat. When I realized the mistake, they came out and fixed the mistake. Back to the slow turd.

yes they are slow ... they were meant for golf courses
reverse is only 18v with factory wiring
the only way to make them fast is convert them to a controller cart or a 48v cart

We make conversion kits. I would post a link but somebody will cry.
So click on a link below and search the menu for conversion kits

I will put in a good word for scottyb and cartsunlimited. I build my cart with his parts. 90 cc ds. I tore out everything but the key switch and charger port. My cart is a hunting buggy built for torque but he can get you set for speed also.

Follow ScottyB's direction. I did the same and put the big controller and HD F/R switch with his cables n my 85 ccds rolls with the big boys now. O I also converted to 48vlts. All Hail ScottyB!!
