Default New Wheel Hub loose after tighten the bolt Club Car

I am hoping someone can help me with an issue I am having. I just received two brand new wheel hubs that I ordered online for my 2011 Club Car Precedent. After putting the two wheel hubs on and tightening the bolt, there is still about an 1/8" of play. Is there a remedy like adding a washer?

The original hubs did not have this issue....I was able to tighten them until they would not spin freely.

Also, any easy way to pack them with grease?

Thanks

If you purchased aftermarket hubs I have seen where there is still a little play between the bearing and nut when tight as the machining is not as accurate as the OEM hubs. If the play is vertical and not horizontal then the old bearings in old hubs wore out the spindle (the axle that the hub slides on). I have seen both of these scenario's, you just have to verify where the play is actually coming from to determine what needs to be changed. Most times when those sealed hub bearings really go bad they are creating alot of heat which most times deteriorates the axle in that area so pull off the hub and see if you can see or feel a dip in the metal. If its smooth all the way across then I bet they are aftermarket hubs you purchased.

Thank you for the reply – I had a chance to check it and the movement is side to side, not up-and-down. Do you think a little bit of movement is going to be an issue long-term? They are aftermarket hubs from golf cart king.

Thank you
