2009 Precedant Slow (9mph) max speed
Hi all,
I am a newer owner of the above model cart. Last summer I made the big mistake of storing the cart plugged in without having the ability to monitor the battery water levels. After attempting to recuperate the batteries (4x12V). the car never was able to travel more than about 9 mph (as shown on my GPS) compared to last year when it was much faster (maybe 15MPH). Since the old batteries were showing signs of bulging and were already 4 years old, I have changed out the batteries for new Trojans but the speed problem still exists. I have tried resetting the OBC but I remain unsure if that was successful or not as the process described using the reverse buzzer as a bleed off did not result in the buzzer sounding off as expected. Any ideas as where to go next to resolve this issue would be appreciated.... Foxy On edit: The serial number of the cart indicates it uses the "Excel" system but how does one determine if the card uses the MCOR or TPS throttle system. |

Sounds like a bad speed sensor. Mounted on end of motor.

I agree. Speed sensor. Don't buy the cheap Chinese one. Get a factory sensor or you'll be changing it again in a few weeks.

Does anyone have an answer to this part: "The serial number of the cart indicates it uses the "Excel" system but how does one determine if the cart uses the MCOR or TPS throttle system. " Thanks again!! |

Re: 2009 Precedant Slow (9mph) max speed
I appear to have the Gen2 throttle assembly judging by the pictures provided by Tahoedawg in his other thread. (Thanks!!!) Where are the MCOR or TPS system parts physically located on my unit?. Possibly in that box located under the floorboards and just in front of the the pedals??
My unit appears to back up very quickly compared to going forward, although I have not yet tried measuring the speed in reverse as I did in forward. (9 MPH max.) May be my wife's imagination though!!! Thanks again for helping out a confused newbie!! |

Re: 2009 Precedant Slow (9mph) max speed
Thank you for that little trick. I do get a click under the the conditions you described... (no key, neutral etc.) It also gave away the apparent physical location of the MCOR as being in the box skillfully hidden under the floorboard/mat in front of the pedals as I suspected. Never noticed it when I was replacing the brake light switch in there last year.
