Question Thinking about buying a 2008 Club Car DS...

My father, who is just as impatient as I am (the fruit dont fall far from the tree ) has bugged just about everyone in South Louisiana who has a golf cart for sale.

He's located a 2008 Club Car DS 48v cart that's in really good condition. It has good tires, brand new batteries, a fold down windshield, and the charger. It was apparently bought new for an aging husband who has since passed on, and the wife is just wanting it sold so that she can move. It's apparently been shop kept, and only used to drive around the property. Asking price is $1500.

I know that is a pretty good deal based on my limited research, but I'm wondering about the after-cost of making it street legal. I'll need to add the lights and stuff which I think I can do based on the youtube videos I've seen, but what about all the other stuff.

Are the lifts, tires etc easy to install with a little mechanical knowledge?

Do you think I should run with this cart based on its price?

Sounds like a good deal to me...

Only thing is that it probably has the 4 X 12v battery configuration.

It does.

Is that a bad thing?

Not necessarily a bad thing, just let range (run time) with that setup. You can convert to 6 X 8v the next time you need batteries.

Cool. My biggest issue is finding a good running, reliable cart and buying used isn't always what they seem to be. My dad is highly mechanical (rebuilds tractors etc) and he's going to go look at it for me. He bought my grandmothers a year or so ago, but her's was $3500 and an EZGO.

That is a great deal if it is in the condition that you described. I would jump on it, as far as working on them to make them street legal I would have to say that the ds model is fairly easy to work on and modify. Good luck I think you will like that cart I love my 03 DS.

Uh oh. This could get interesting.

Lifts, tires, wheels, dashes, rear seats, extended tops, custom steering wheels......

We're gonna be in trouble.
