Solenoid, Super Duty F/R Switch- Wiring Upgrade?
One thing I forgot to consider when upgrading to the super duty F/R Reverse contractor and the 400amp solenoid was that the terminal connectors are much larger than what was there previously so not quite the plug and play I had envisioned. Should I be upgrading my wiring components, if so what size wire should I be using? Anyone happen to know the size o-ring terminal that I should also be looking for? Would I be fine just cutting off the connecting pieces and putting on the new adapters? The controller looks to be the same so shouldn't have any issues there.
I apologize for not knowing the correct verbage, I will not take offense to anyone correcting me, instead view it as learning lol. Thank you! |

Re: Solenoid, Super Duty F/R Switch- Wiring Upgrade?
Hello - website says
"Heavy Duty (SW185) for 300-500 amp controllers (5/16 cable lugs required) These are standard size. Super Duty (SW202) for use with 500 amps & up (3/8ths cable lugs required)" It's okay if the reversing contactor is rated higher than the controller. 500a Controller uses 2g cables unless flat street use only then 4g is okay. Hope this helps The website also says this is a level 2 project. Which means it may require wire cutters, strippers, connector crimps, & some power tools required. |
