Does installation differ between brands?
I have a 6" Allsports SS A Arm lift that I need to install. I'm going to attempt to do this on my own, however, I can't find a good installation video to go along with it.
Does the Allsports lift vary in installation from a Madjax lift? Madjax has a really good installation video on youtube. If the parts are basically the same, I'll just use the MJ video as my guide. I'm a visual/kinesthetic learner, so written directions are hard for me to understand. If I can see the video, I can get it done a lot faster. |

Re: Does installation differ between brands?
They're very similar when it comes to installation!
But with alignment, MJ requires a 1/4" toe out, and All Sports requires an 1/8" toe in! |

The lift kits look identical in appearance. Installation is the same... Use this guide for your alignment..

Nevermind. I just saw on the MJ video. Its the nut on the end of the a arm, near the spindle.
How do you know what 1/8" IN is? |

Re: Does installation differ between brands?
JaycoGogo,
Set your camber before you set your toe. When you install the upper A-Arms, run the jam nut all the way against the heim joint and thread it all the way into the A-arm, then back it out 3.5 turns and tighten down the jam nut. This will allow you to adjust your camber with the lower heim joints once you get it all bolted together. To check the camber, use a framing square against the side of the front tire and make sure it's standing straight up. If it's not, run the lower heim joint in or out to get the desired lean of the tire. |

Is this something that MUST be done before running it? Will I ruin something if I drive it without doing this? The reason that I am asking is that if I can get the lift on and tightened down, I can drive the cart 1/2 a mile up the road to a friend who can help me adjust is as necessary. |
