Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
I just got done installing the Alltax XCT 48400IQ controller on my 07 Precedent. I also just finished reading through the the Alltrax manual to become more familiar with the terminology that the software uses so I can do some custom tunes. Out of the box my cart is actually a little slower but I'm sure I can fix that and that got me thinking.
Since a few members of this site have put this controller on their club car would they be willing to share how they have their controller and throttle settings setup? I would find it interesting to see the different results from controller size to tire size to mph to acceleration etc. I could trial and error this on my own but since there is a community here I think it's worth a shot. So below is a format to start it in if anybody is willing. I understand each cart is unique so we can't just copy the next guys setup because he might have an after market motor running more RPMs. So each person has to proceed with caution. Cart: 2007 Precedent 48v 4-12 Trojan batteries Controller: Alltrax XCT48400IQ with SW180 solenoid 4ga cables Motor: Stock Tires: 23" Top Speed: 19 MPH (stock controller don't know new numbers) Controller Settings: (if I had any I would either screen shot my computer's screen or upload the txt file) Throttle Settings: (same as above) |

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
Hey Travis – I'm hoping some people reply to this thread. It is definitely information that I would like to know as well. I agree that each individual set up is different, but I would like to know what settings brought the most reasonable change within the limits of the cart and motors.
I, for one, have a 2011 Club Car Precedent and used the original settings that Scotty set for the Plum Quick Bandit motor and it runs great, but I know there is an ability to tweak it a little more. My best bet is probably to purchase a better motor and I am hoping someone can make a good recommendation. Thanks for starting this thread. |

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
I'm glad a thread for this topic has been started. I'll post screenshots of my settings once I get things dialed in the way I like it. It will be a little bit though, as I will be out of town this coming week...

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
Well I think think this topic will gain more traction once a few of us start posting our setups and the results from it. Maybe even someday it will be a sticky, haha.
So I got sometime today to try custom throttle and torque settings on my cart. After about 45 mintues of making slight adjustments and taking it for a quick drive I actually set it to the "Normal" throttle setting to see what it would do. The reason I did this was because I had everything set so aggressive that when I would back out of my garage it kept barking the tires . Long story short I need more seat time with it to get it so I can be smoother out of the hole but yet pack a punch when I need it. I did pickup quiet of bit of speed though which is good news. I called Alltrax on Friday to make sure of my RPM limits of my stock motor which is 6000 RPM and that is what my controller was set at but my cart never gets up to that RPM. I think it only got up to 4000 RPM when wide open. Below is what I got out of it today. Cart: 2007 Precedent 48v Batteries: 4-12 Trojan batteries (at least 4 years old) Controller: Alltrax XCT48400IQ with SW180 solenoid 4ga cables Motor: Stock AMD motor Tires: 23" Top Speed: 25 MPH (it was 29 degrees out today so maybe more?) Controller Settings: Factory settings besides Regen was at 60.0 Throttle Settings: Factory: Normal Torque Settings: Factory: Normal Comments: On the normal settings my cart had good acceleration up to about 17-19 then it would take a while to peak. In order to get up to 25mph I need all of a city block in my town maybe more, to get up to 17mph takes only a short distance. I did not get a lot of run time with the setup because it was so cold out today. Hoping to have more time in the next few weeks along with programming. My controller came with a custom tune from ScottyB which was a very smooth tune. Made my cart drive very nice and I saved that tune just in case I want to use it in the future. I did not have the chance to run that tune wide open. Since I did not create the tune I feel it is not mine to share. I will post more when the weather warms up! |

Thanks for posting this topic....I have same controller but have larger motor from ScottyB.
It'll be interesting to see what conclusions you come to! |

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
I was just getting ready to search the site for the same info, thanks for beating me to the post Travis!
I have an 08' precedent and have installed the XCT500 on 23's. Getting a Bandit motor built from Plum Quick and should have later this week. I need to dial my controller in as well. |

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
Seems nobody wants to share. This is the biggest problem with an Alltrax controller. Lack of information. Nobody can share any information because they don't have any. Compare the information provided for any Curtis controller to the Alltrax.

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
I'm just now getting my XCT500 and 400a solenoid installed in my lifted Precedent but will be a little while before I can share setups. I'm trying to build it backup correctly so not in a hurry. Will definitely share soon as I can

Perhaps nobody shares because they haven't opened up the program and looked at their settings. Because it's all there in black n white Anybody who bought a control from me has a custom throttle map. They can share it - if they want. |

Re: Alltrax XCT custom controller & throttle settings
The Alltrax controller is a piece of cake to set up with the Laptop app. The manual explains how to modify the throttle curve and you can dial the max, min voltage and max current settings with your mouse. I think it's a great product!
