The bottom line is, do you want to replace your batteries in 5-6 years or 3-4 years?

I'd like those expensive bastards to last as long as they can...

I'll go ahead and hook up the light kit to a single battery for now, but i'll be ordering a reducer and fuse panel now that I know where they fit into the setup. We'll eventually add a radio as well, so I might as well prepare for it with the fuse panel. I'll have to run the lights off the single battery for a week or so until the reducer can be shipped.

LOL The guys with the tin foil hats can give pages full of reasons to use a voltage reducer but money talks loudest.
