Club Car rear lift height question

Hi everyone, I recently purchased an All Sports 6" long travel lift for my 2000.5 Club Car DS electric. It previously had a spindle lift of 4" (at least that's what I thought?) When I went to install the rear lift I noticed the spacers that the previous owner had welded on were the same height as the ones I got with my All Sports lift. The both are 2" high with the half moon notch on the bottoms.
So I figured I lucked out and maybe my old lift was 6 inches and I could just use the blocks that were welded on instead of trying to remove them. I installed everything and the rear sits too low.
My question is does anybody know how high those rear spacers are suppose to be for a 6" lift? I thought maybe All Sports sent the wrong ones possibly? I could possibly add another spacer on top but I don't know how much higher I should go because the U-bolts aren't long enough for 2 more inches.

Usually the lift blocks for a 6 inch lift are about 2 inches tall. Do you have heavy duty springs in the rear? An easy way to move the rear up is to make some longer spring shackles. An inch and a half longer spring shackle will move the cart up another inch or so.

Thanks for the quick response. I must have had a 6" lift before? I do not have heavy duty springs. Could my springs be sagging that much?
Thanks for the spring shackle option. I think an inch or so is all I would need. Do you think that is easier than just putting a 1"x1" piece of square tubing above spacer with holes drilled in it to keep it aligned?

I'd definitely blame it on the springs. I'd start by ordering some heavy duty springs. Every lifted cart needs them, especially if you have a rear seat kit or a cargo bed on the back of the cart.

Thanks for the info and advise. I think Ill try the longer shackles first. I don't have a rear seat or cargo bed and would rather have a softer ride if possible. Just curious how a lift would bring a need for heavy duty springs???

Because of tire rubbing issues with the larger tires. Lift kit heights and tire size recommendations are all calculated on vehicles with heavy duty springs. A vehicle with a 6 inch lift and standard springs, such as yours, may not really be as tall as it needs to be and you'll have tire rubbing. Also, you need to consider that 99% of lifted carts either have a cargo bed or a rear seat kit, which only increases the need for HD springs.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Makes sense why my rear end is too low. If I don't have a rear seat or cargo box will my ride be rough with HD springs. I don't want a smooth long travel front end with an overly stiff rear end.

BTW, thanks for your sticky about bringing the brake cables up above the springs. I'm in the process of doing that now as long as I have it apart deciding what I'm going to do.

It'll ride rougher than it does now for sure, but in my opinion it's not bad. I like a nice firm ride on a lifted vehicle because it reduces body roll and it handles better. Others like the nice soft ride. It's all a matter of personal preference really. I'm glad you liked my article about the brake flip. You may run into an issue with the cable not lining up perfectly with the slide mechanism on the back of the brake plate. The thickness of a heavy duty spring plays a role in alignment of the cable bracket as well. It may be off half an inch or so but it should still work.

I was wondering if you had any medium duty leaf springs? I read a little about those and thought maybe those would be a good choice for me? What do you think? I would like to buy some springs and bushings from you for all your help. Thanks a lot.
